Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar for Sinus Infection

Apple Cider Vinegar

2 tablespoons of organic raw ACV, 8 ounces of water

Mix water and ACV and drink it immediately.  You can also mix 1/8 or ¼ cup of ACV and 16 ounces of water and drink it in sips throughout the day. You can also gargle with this mixture to relieve throat pain

ACV Steam



½ cups each of ACV and Water


Mix water and ACV in a pan and heat it to boil. Take towel over your head and cover the pan with the towel so that the steam cannot escape. Keep your face over the pan and breathe deeply until the steam reduces. You can do this many times in a day for a few days until the nasal cavity clears up.

Honey Drink


2 tablespoons each of honey and ACV, 8 ounces of warm water


Mix warm water, honey and ACV in a glass and drink it several times a day. Honey’s anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties combined with ACV make this an amazing and soothing combination to combat the sinus infection. Not only does it kill the infection but due to honey and warm water, the irritation in the throat reduces. Also, the consumption of honey strengthens the immune system of the body

ACV Decongestant



¼ cup each of ACV and lemon juice, ½ cup each of cayenne pepper and powdered ginger, 3 tablespoons honey, a pinch of turmeric powder


Mix lemon juice and ACV in a pan and heat at low flame for a few seconds. Add the cayenne pepper, ginger powder, and turmeric and mix well. Store this mixture in a dark cold place. Whenever you feel the sinus infection cropping up, take 1 or 2 teaspoons for instant relief.

5 to 6 drops of ACV, 1 tablespoon of distilled water


Mix ACV and distilled water and pour it in an empty nasal sprayer. Spray this mixture on the infected area for instant relief. Do this at least 3 times a day. Your condition will improve with 24 hours

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse


2 tablespoons of ACV and 1 cup of warm water


Mix ACV and water. Take 1 tablespoon of the solution in your palm. Close one nostril with the other hand and pour the solution down the nostril. Let it flow through your nose and throat. You may either spit it out from the throat or swallow it. Do the same process for the second nostril. This will give you instant relief. You need to do this remedy twice a day

Tips to ease the pain and to avoid the increase in severity of the sinus infection

  • Drink lots of warm water. It will wash the bacteria and fungus in the throat also dilute the mucous.
  • Increase the intake of foods that have more Vitamin A to jump up your immunity.
  • Alcohol increases the swelling of mucous membrane, so do not drink alcohol.
  • Use saline sprays frequently to keep nose moist.
  • Place a warm cloth on your forehead, eyes, and nose. It will relieve the pain and dilute the mucous to clear nasal congestion.
  • Caffeinated drinks often cause dehydration and sinus infection. Avoid them.
  • Absolute “No” chilled items like ice cream.
